Boston, along with Philadelphia, played pivotal roles throughout American history, which even pre-dates the country's creation. Many major events in American history had a connection here, and the city is a major training ground for tomorrow's leaders with Harvard and MIT based here. Boston has a good mix of museums, historic streets, and delicious food, which can easily fill up a week. It doesn't feel like a typical American city, and the guidebook explanations give this place an extra few hundred years of interesting stories.
